The King's Tour
A gastronomical and historical quest . 7 days . ship name Amsterdam Latitude (Comfort DeLuxe) . tour code CKI
Bike Barge Canada Kings Tour

Level of Difficulty: Relatively easy route. Includes some small valleys

In the 17th Century, the French established their ‘Nouvelle-France’ on the shores of the majestic St-Lawrence River. Here were born two of the oldest cities of North America, Quebec, founded by Samuel de Champlain in 1608, and Montreal, founded by Sieur de Maisonneuve in 1642. Four centuries later, the St-Lawrence continues to seduce those who seek the perfect balance between heritage and nature.

Following the shores of the St-Lawrence River, the King’s Tour will take through ‘Patriote’ country, and then follows the first road to link Montreal and Quebec, known as the ‘Chemin du Roy’. The path between these two picturesque cities will take you from discovery to discovery. Each day’s itinerary will weave between vast landscapes and quaint ‘québécois’ villages which will fascinate you by the diversity of an architecture influenced by successive waves of European settlers. Your every effort will be richly rewarded by memorable landscapes which have been woven into the history of French North America.

This area of the continent, which has inspired so many poets, will certainly make your soul vibrate to the beat of its generous people. From the effervescence of the large cities to the quietness of its rural regions, all five of your senses will be stimulated richly. Through the discovery of the pleasures of the Québécois regional cuisine, impromptu conversations around the dinner table, and the rich heritage of this young nation, you will come to lift the veil on the secrets of the multiple faces of Quebec.  This Tour will be remembered as a gastronomical and historical quest through the birthplace of French occupation in America.
